On March 10, sunshine was brought to many individuals and businesses. Daffodils were delivered throughout the communities of Juneau, Douglas, Skagway, Gustavus and Kake.
As Chairperson for the American Cancer Society Daffodil Sales and the many volunteers that assisted with the program, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for purchasing daffodils and supporting the program. This year we brought in $29,039. It is amazing the tremendous support that all of the communities give to the program. The daffodils were a delight to see around the communities and the many smiles on people faces.
There are so many people to thank for their assistance, and if I should forget anyone I apologize.
Many thanks is given to Barbara Gabier, Nela Pierce and friend, Mark Milla, Connie and Larry Depute, Roscoe Palmer, Connie and Wayne Nicolis, Tina Seaton, Kathy Clemens, Jody Schmitz, Bea Long, Janet Henderson, Kathy Bresette, Welles Gabier, Jasmin Evans, Judy Weske, Carol Whelan, Tina Maryott-Gordon, Delores Branson, Helen Fleming, Beth Belflower, Kathy and Fred Schmitz, Chris Donak, Cindy Evans, Frankie Miller, Loretta Gregory, of Kake, Judy Mallory, of Skagway, and Jo Archambault, of Gustavus.
Thank you goes to Curves and Ron Flint and his employees at the Nugget Alaskan Outfitters for sales and distribution of the daffodils. Thanks to the Bartlett Regional Hospital cafeteria for allowing us to sale in the cafeteria and the Goldbelt Building for the use of the lobby for staging. Thanks to the legislators and their employees for always being a big supporter of the daffodil sales. Thanks to Alaska Marine Lines, who donated transportation of the flowers to Juneau; and Wings of Alaska, for donating transportation to Gustavus, Kake and Skagway. A big thank you to Alaskan & Proud for allowing us to sale daffodils in their store.
A special thank you to KINY for allowing me to come on the radio to promote the sales and for all of the public service announcements that KINY did for us.
