Tuesday's lunch-hour robbery of the downtown branch of Alaska Pacific Bank has not been solved.
"Not yet," said FBI special agent Eric Gonzales of Anchorage when asked today if he had any leads.
A small amount of currency was taken by a man who told tellers he had a gun, but did not show one. The suspect is described as 6 feet tall, 210 pounds, Native, in his early 20s, wearing a knit cap, hiking boots and a gray T-shirt with the word "wolf" on the back. He fled on foot.
Asked about the rather fuzzy image produced by the bank's security camera, Gonzales said each bank has its own brand of security. "The camera would have to be monitored (by a human observer) to zoom in on a particular face," Gonzales said.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact the Juneau Police Department, 586-0600; Crime Line, 586-4243; or the FBI, 907 276-4441.
