Friends and family gathered to celebrate the 95th birthday of Juneau resident Art Kassner at the Juneau Pioneers' Home earlier this month.
Kassner has lived in Juneau since 1944. A past master in the Masonic Lodge, he was joined by local masons and his family for Wednesday's party. His immediate family includes his wife, Esther; daughter Joan Harju; daughter Ardyne Womack and son, Dan Kassner, all of Juneau. Daughter Linda Loos of Ann Arbor, Mich. also was in town for the celebration.
Kassner worked on the maintenance staff at the federal building before he retired. Over years, he also worked for the Department of Highways, Fish and Wildlife and drove a Yellow Cab, according to his family.
