Former Juneau resident Mildred Rose Lowe, 76, died April 19, 2002, in Eugene, Ore.
She was born Dec. 3, 1925, to Harry and Mamie Sieber Thomas in New York City. She married Robert M. Lowe Jr. on Oct. 10, 1950, in Reno, Nev. They lived in Eureka, Calif. before moving to Juneau in 1960. She worked for Harbor Leather and the IGA stores on South Franklin St. and in the Mendenhall Valley. She and her husband moved to Oregon in 1977 after his retirement.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed oil painting, sewing, cooking and interior decorating. Her family said she especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. After her husband's retirement from the Alaska Department of Highways, they spent all of their time traveling and enjoying retirement.
She is survived by her husband Bob; Douglas and Caren Lowe, Eugene, Ore., and Dennis and Deane, Quinlan, Texas; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
