I want to say a special thank you to all my friends for the wonderful get-together in celebration of my 70th birthday on April 15 at El Sombrero. I can only say it was mind blowing.
Thank you to Maura Truitt for all the work that went into making it just perfect; to Gillian Hays for being a faithful sidekick and to Michael Hays and his "Little Old Lady From Pasadena" (my original hometown) presentation; and a great big hug to all the many friends who took time out to come and share the fun, eat the always-great Mexican food, laugh heartily and remember all the great times we have had together - thanks!
Gifts, cards and the memories will always be with me. One final Fourth of July parade at the front of the Juneau Volunteer Marching Band, a hike over the Chilkoot Trail with my friends and a motorcycle ride with my dog, Virginia, headed for my new digs in Maine will top off the 26 years I have spent in Juneau. I will miss my friends and the community. It has been a great ride, Juneau. See you all in the sunset.
