School: Glacier Valley Elementary School.
Art of choice: He plays flute in the Glacier Valley Morning Musicians.
Reason: "I chose the flute because I want to be like my brother because he played in Carnegie Hall, with the same flute I play with. I'm thinking his luck will rub off on me!"
Experience: This is his first year playing the flute. "I get up at 6:30 and we leave the house at five before seven. It's totally worth it, dude! Rock on to the flutes! My favorite song we've played is "Bottom Bass Boogie." The flute plays part A and B."
Sound off on the important issues at
All in the family: "Just my brother, then there's my Grandpa who plays the trombone."
Favorite artists: "My brother, Beetoven and Mozart."
Continuing in art: "Yes, I'm going on with the flute! Go flute!"
Future plans: "I want to join the Army. I don't want to be a drum boy, though. I want to fight for my country."
Other activities: "I'm a gamer. Kingdom Hearts 2 and 1, and Star Ocean: Till the End of Time. I like to play with my best friends Evan and Kyle."
Wacky art: "I could go in the sewer and play this really weird song, like "Shark Attack" so people would walk by and hear sounds coming out of the sewer!"
You should know: "I can basically cook hamburgers well. And then there's my dog who's crazy, he chases his tail, rolls around, then bites himself because he thinks he's another dog, and chases his shadow."
Insights: "(Music) is kind of like the beat in life. You always have a beat to your step."
His teacher, Mela O'Brien, says: "David is enthusiastic about all art forms, dance, drama, visual and music. He has an enthusiastic "can do" attitude and is an active participant."
