ANCHORAGE - Larry LeDoux has been named to serve as state education commissioner.
Gov. Sarah Palin on Thursday approved the selection made by the State Board of Education and Early Development. In doing so, she said LeDoux's dedication to education will serve the state well and ensure that students receive the best education.
LeDoux is superintendent of the Kodiak Island Borough School District.
He holds a master of arts degree in teaching in science and biology from the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
