First 30 miles of Denali Park road opened to motorists

FAIRBANKS - The first 30 miles of the road into Denali National Park and Preserve has opened to motorists to mile 30.
The stretch will remain open through May 19. It opened Friday.
Tour buses are slated to begin running May 20 and the road will be closed to private traffic at Mile 15.
According to Tim Taylor, east district road maintenance supervisor, there have been multiple wildlife sightings along the opened area.
