Jessie Guyermelli

Jessie Guyermelli died April 23, 2000, at the Juneau Pioneers' Home.

She was born in July 1, 1913, in Conconelli, Wash., and moved to Tenakee Springs in 1975. She was married to Joe Guyermelli.

She worked as a waitress and did janitorial work at the school in Tenakee. She loved flowers and spent a great deal of her time keeping up the city park. Her friend and neighbor, Rie Munoz, painted Jessie's waterfront cabin and called the painting ``Jessie's Flowers.'' The print, signed by the painter and inscribed ``to the real Jessie'' hung on Guyermelli's wall at the pioneers' home.

Guyermelli moved to Juneau in the early 1990s and lived in Linda Smith's assisted living home before moving to the Juneau Pioneers' Home in 1993.

She is survived by her nephew Warren Brown and great-nephews Michael and William Brown all of Seattle; and her great-niece Joan Rechter of Washington.

Services were held 1 p.m. Thursday at the Juneau Pioneers' Home.
