ANCHORAGE - A traffic stop near Healy turned into a drug and contraband arrest.

Alaska State Troopers on Sunday stopped a sport utility vehicle at Mile 269 Parks Highway and charged 52-year-old Gerardo Anthony Solorzano of San Diego with driving with a revoked California driver's license.

A passenger, 40-year-old Brandy Louise Martus of Anchorage, had an outstanding felony warrant and was arrested.

Troopers said they found a case containing methamphetamine next to the front passenger seat.

Solorzano and Martus both denied owning the case. Both were charged with drug misconduct and taken to Fairbanks Correctional Center.

Troopers said Solorzano carried a glass pipe containing meth into the jail. He was charged with promoting contraband.
