FAIRBANKS - More than 95 communities are participating this week in a rural energy conference in Fairbanks.
The University of Alaska Fairbanks and the Alaska Energy Authority are hosting the conference, which begins Tuesday.
Those attending include rural community leaders and village power plant operators, as well as state legislators, scientific researchers, industry leaders and others.
The goal of the conference is to discover innovative energy solutions for Alaska.
More than 35 vendors are expected at the trade show.
