Banner suit filed in court

After reading about the "Bong Hits 4 Jesus" banner lawsuit, I felt that I must write to express my disbelief at the lack of moral conscience of the Juneau School Board and Ms. Deborah Morse. It should be clear to anyone who has taken even a middle-school civics class that such activity is protected by the First Amendment. If the board and Ms. Morse are simply disregarding the law, then, perhaps, they should either be removed from their positions or forced to undergo rigorous counseling.

As both a parent and a practicing attorney, I applaud Joseph Frederick and the ACLU. It's a darned shame that the taxpayers will be forced to pay for Ms. Morse and the school board's contempt for the law. The cost of the defense of the lawsuit and any damages that may be awarded to Mr. Frederick should be taken out of their salaries.
