Police and Fire

Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Driving while intoxicated:

• Rodney Cameron Kostenko, 21, was arrested for drunken driving at 12:33 a.m. on Egan Drive near Twin Lakes. He also was charged with two counts of reckless endangerment. He was lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center. A 16-year-old passenger was cited for underage drinking and misconduct involving a controlled substance. She was released to her parents.

• Police arrested Randell Bryson, 29, for drunken driving at 1:10 a.m. today near Great Western Avenue. He was later released.


• Police arrested a 26-year-old man for domestic violence assault at 9:51 a.m. Saturday in the downtown area. He was lodged at the state prison.

• A man, 27, was arrested for domestic violence assault at 9:16 a.m. Sunday in the Douglas area. He was lodged at the state prison.


• A woman reported at 11:43 a.m. Sunday from Whittier Street the theft of her creme-colored macramé shoulder bag containing her wallet. Police have no leads or suspects.

Vandalism and criminal mischief:

• A man reported at 10:31 a.m. Sunday near the Thane Campground that several windows were broken on his boat. Damage estimates were not available.

Animal encounters:

• Bears were reported Saturday at 10:04 a.m. near Glacier Highway in Lemon Creek and 2:03 a.m. Sunday near Glacier Highway in Lemon Creek.

Alcohol-related calls: 3.

Drug-related calls: 1.
