Grateful Dogs of Juneau host study

JUNEAU - Grateful Dogs of Juneau says school groups will be watching birds and studying fish and insects on the Airport Dike Trail from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. from Monday to May 8.

The organization asks that that owners keep pets on a leash and on the trail during this time.

New grant cycle given to snowmobile program

JUNEAU - The Alaska Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation has announced a new grant cycle for the Snowmobile Trails Program. Grants are available for snowmobile trail acquisition, trail development and maintenance, and safety and education projects.

To obtain copies of the Snowmobile Trails Program requirements and application forms, visit the division's trails web site at www.alaskatrails.org.

The Snowmobile Trails Program grant due date has changed. It is now Aug. 1. Applications being mailed must be postmarked by Aug. 1. The public notices requirements for this grant must be posted by July 10.
