Calif. energy expert to speak in Juneau

JUNEAU - At the mayor's request and using U.S. Department of Energy funding, a California energy expert is in Juneau to help locals find ways to save energy.

Alan Meier, a professor at the Energy Efficiency Center of the University of California Davis and a senior scientist for the Energy Analysis Department of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, will field questions from the public beginning at 6 p.m. today at the Juneau-Douglas High School commons.

People can come armed with their past electric bills and knowledge of what kinds of appliances they have in their homes or businesses.
