Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Driving while intoxicated:

Frank Gilespie, 56, was arrested at 12:45 a.m. today near Douglas Highway and John Street for drunken driving and lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.


A man reported at 12:07 p.m. Monday near Hospital Drive that a computer network card valued at $130 was stolen sometime in the past week. Police have no leads or suspects.

A man reported at 9:37 p.m. Monday near Ferry Way and South Franklin Street that his mountain bike was stolen from Franklin Street.

Vandalism and criminal mischief:

A woman reported at 12:40 p.m. Monday near Lena Point Road that her black Toyota was keyed and a tire was slashed while it was parked.

Hit-and-run incidents:

A woman reported at 5 p.m. Monday from an undisclosed location in the Juneau area that her Subaru Forester was struck in the right passenger side and the front bumper was scratched. On a separate occasion, she said her tailgate was dented just above the tail light.

Animal encounters:

A bear was reported getting into some trash at 1:07 a.m. today near Glacier Highway in Lemon Creek. An officer went to the area but the bear had left by the time the officer arrived. The complaint was forwarded to Litter Control.
