Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported


• A violin in a black case was reported stolen at 12:20 p.m. Monday from an unlocked 1994 Subaru. Police did not know the location of the vehicle when the violin was stolen.

• An undisclosed amount of cash was reported stolen at 7:52 a.m. Tuesday from a Suzuki Samurai parked near Seward Street.


• Police arrested a man, 38, for misconduct involving a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, at 9:52 a.m. Tuesday near Marine Way.

Underage drinking:

• Police cited a girl, 16, for underage drinking at 1:16 a.m. Tuesday near Front Street and Shattuck Lane. She also was arrested on an outstanding warrant charging she failed to appear for a hearing, to comply with probation and to pay fines. The original charge was underage drinking and tobacco possession.

Crime Line

Juneau Crime Line Inc. is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest or indictment of the person or people responsible for stealing two cameras from the downtown area.

One of the cameras, a 35 mm Pentax ZX10, was taken from a vehicle parked near Merchant's Wharf March 14. The camera was in a black carrying case with red stripes. The serial number on the lens is 4275246. The camera is valued at $550.

The other camera was stolen March 17 from an undisclosed business on Seventh Street and is described as a Pentax Optio 430 digital camera. The serial number is 380575. The camera is valued at $908.
