Unidentified body found on Kodiak road

KODIAK - The body of an unidentified white male was found on Pillar Mountain Road early this morning, Kodiak police said.

Police speculate he was the victim of a hit-and-run.

Police Chief T.C. Kamai said it appears the man died of blunt-force trauma after being struck by a vehicle.

An autopsy has been ordered to determine the exact cause of death.

The body was found by a passerby.

The man's identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. Authorities said he appeared to be about 40 years old.
