JUNEAU - The University of Alaska Southeast will hand out a record number of diplomas this weekend at its graduation ceremonies.
UAS is expecting to award 348 degrees for this academic year, up 72 from last year. More than 80 occupational endorsements also will be handed out, up 22 from last year, according to UAS.
"This is the largest and most diverse class in UAS history in terms of ethnicity and types of degrees being awarded," UAS Chancellor John Pugh said in a statement.
The Rev. Stephen Sundborg, a former Juneau resident and president of Seattle University, will be the commencement speaker.
