If the vote to have our Legislature review and possibly rewrite some of the Alaska Constitution was not one geared toward showing extreme bias and disgust to those in same-sex relationships, then what was it? A previous vote already prevents two legal adults of the same gender from entering the bonds of matrimony in this state.
Sound off on the important issues at
First it's, "No, you cannot marry." Now it's, "No, you're not entitled to health benefits for your partner and family." If that isn't saying some citizens are considered a lower level of human, then I don't know what is.
Should even more laws come to pass that would effectively prevent some couples from marrying or having equal access to health insurance - like it should be anyone's business to decide for them - then a law must come to effect to increase their rate of pay and enable them to purchase health insurance elsewhere. Whatever happened to equal pay and benefits for equal work?
