Juneau pioneer Barbara (Grove) Hulk celebrated her 90th birthday on April 29 by treating family and friends from far and near to a sightseeing tour on the Four Seasons Marine MV Admiralty Wind from Auke Bay.
Guests, more than 100, then enjoyed a pig roast at Orca Point Lodge on Colt Island. The three-day celebration culminated with Hulk's ride on the back of Pappy Poe's 2003 Ultra Classic Harley-Davidson near Mendenhall Glacier.
Hulk moved to Juneau in 1946; in 1947 she married Bernard Hulk. She worked as a secretary/bookkeeper for airline, clinic, legislature and attorney offices.
