JUNEAU - A public information meeting is scheduled tonight from 6 to 9 p.m. on a mining company's proposal for hoverbarge transport of mineral concentrate and supplies on the Taku River, with transshipment through Juneau.

The meeting will be held at Centennial Hall.
Redcorp Ventures proposed in January to forgo construction of a 100-mile Canadian road between Atlin and the Tulsequah Chief Mine, 40 miles northeast of Juneau in British Columbia.
Redcorp has since proposed use of "air cushion" barges to carry mineral concentrate in containers to Skagway, where it would be loaded into ocean carriers for transport to Japan.
The public is invited to a presentation on the proposal, said Redcorp's communications contact Salina Landstad. Booths will be set up, and company representatives will answer questions.
