In the finale of a four-game series in Sitka, the Juneau-Douglas boys’ baseball team had another dominating performance from one of its starting pitchers as the Crimson Bears went on to an 8-0 victory Saturday.
Damon Ludwig pitched a three-hit, complete-game shutout to get the victory for the Bears. It was the third consecutive complete game by a Juneau-Douglas starter.
The Bears’ bats didn’t disappoint either as Vinnie Isturis led the way with three hits, including a two-run homer in the top of the first inning. Keath Flint added two hits on the day while Lance Ibesate hit the second two-run home run of the afternoon during the top of the second inning.
Defensively the Crimson Bears played another error-free game. Juneau-Douglas committed only one throwing error during the entire series.
The Bears had 12 hits total on their way to eight runs.
