Former Juneau resident Rashard Richard Brown died April 24, 2010, in Seattle, Wash. He was 23.
Born March 5, 1987, in Baltimore, Md., he lived in Juneau when he was diagnosed with duchenne muscular dystrophy. While in Juneau for seven years, he attended Juneau Christian School and Glacier View Elementary School. He graduated from Hazen High School in Seattle in 2005.
He was a member of the Muscular Dystrophy Association and Boys and Girls Club of America.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Rosalee Walker.
He is survived by his father, Ricko (Freddie) Brown; mother, Yvette Nutt; uncle, Everette Brown; and grandmother, Karen Michelle Brown Smith.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 6, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 1634 19th Ave., in Seattle.
Pallbearers are Everette Brown, Ryan Brown, Dimas Koral-Arocho, Joseph Coronell, Theron Miller, Chris Taylor, Edward Lee, Miguel Ibias and Everett Brawley.
