ANCHORAGE - Two western Alaska villages are awash in Kuskokwim River water and others are bracing for flooding.

KTVA-TV reported that Sleetmute and Red Devil were flooded.

David LeMaster flew over the villages and said the Red Devil runway was covered by water.

The flooding came as warm temperatures resulted in massive, sudden snow melt.

Down river in Aniak, preparations were under way for possible flooding.

City manager Ron Powell said plans were made to evacuate people to high ground at the high school if flooding occurs.
