Marcia Stier lines up for University of Alaska Southeast graduation ceremonies Sunday at Centennial Hall. Stier was awarded her certificate of completion in Northwest Coast art. She was wearing a Raven's Tail robe called "Hands Across Time,"
which she helped weave and which is in the Alaska State Museum collection.
Provost Robbie Stell, on the right, acknowledges the audience's standing ovation given to
student speaker Gillian Smith at graduation. Smith talked about surviving a brain tumor and
her family's support, which made her graduation possible.
