Andrea Doerflinger shutdown Sitka's lineup on Thursday as the Juneau-Douglas High School softball team topped the Wolves, 4-0, at Melvin Park.
Doerflinger fanned 13 batters in seven innings and allowed two singles.
"It was a very good night for Doerflinger," JDHS coach Dave Massey said. "She threw very well, hit her spots well and threw hard all night."
Juneau-Douglas (5-0) pounded out nine base hits as Ashley Larson and Nicole Bavarde each went 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a run scored to lead the Bears.
Torie Powers went 2-for-3 with a run scored and Alycia Cox had a base hit and drove in a run in the win.
Doerflinger and Jordon Johnston added base hits while Hannah Barril scored a run for the Bears.
"The girls hit pretty well," Massey said. "They hit at people a lot. It wasn't falling like the other night.
"We got four runs in and that was more than enough for the way Andrew was pitching."
For Sitka, Tawny Hoyt and Lela McArthur had singles for the Wolves (12-2).
"Sitka is a good team," Massey said. "They're going to be formidable in their small-school state tournament."
Sitka and Juneau play today at 6:30 p.m. at Melvin Park.
