Capt. Lynn Ridle of Capital City Fire and Rescue directs a stream of water onto the Adair-Kennedy Memorial Park baseball field last Saturday in an attempt to control dust. Dry, windy conditions kicked up so much dust on Saturday that a game between Sitka and Ketchikan high schools had to be stopped several times. The fire department was also called in on Friday. Juneau-Douglas High School baseball coach Jim Ayers said the fire department pumped 2,400 gallons of water onto the field on Friday, and another 1,000 gallons on Saturday.
