Jumpers to perform
The Juneau Jumpers will perform 7 p.m. Saturday, May 8, at Dzantik'I Heeni Middle School Gym.
Juneau Jumpers is a multi-age rope-skipping team with 44 jumpers ranging from elementary to high school age. Since 1985, the team has competed at the local, regional, national and international levels, as well as providing entertaining demonstration shows.
Following the evening's performance, the winners of the Annual Raffle Sale will be selected. Last-minute sales will occur at the door. All proceeds will assist the team in future shows and travels.
The entrance fee is $3 per child, $5 per adult or $10 per family. For more information, contact Judy Neary at 789-0317.
Biker event downtown
Juneau Alaska Bikers Advocating Training and Education is sponsoring a motorcycle awareness event in Juneau in recognition of Motorcycle Awareness and You (MAY) month.
This event will educate the public on the importance of sharing the road with motorcycles by encouraging them to be aware of motorcycles on the road and to help prevent collisions. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 8, at Marine Park in downtown Juneau.

Employee of the year
Fisheries biologist Molly Sturdevant was chosen as the 2003 Juneau Federal Employee of the Year. The Juneau Federal Executive Association held its annual awards luncheon May 6 at the Twisted Fish.
Sturdevant was chosen among six federal employees recognized by their peers for their outstanding service in 2003. The panel of judges who made the selection were: Marc Antrim, commissioner, Department of Corrections; Barbara Rolfe, treasurer, city of Juneau, and Lynne Johnson, development coordinator, University of Alaska Southeast.
