A mixed varsity-junior varsity Juneau-Douglas softball team completed a trip to Anchorage Saturday by trouncing Palmer 12-5 and Wasilla 16-0.
Krista Staveland had four hits in both games, and knocked in three runs against Palmer and scored three against Wasilla. Andrea Walker and Danielle Larson each cracked three hits and scored two runs against Palmer, and Walker drove in three runs. Jenny Ahlgren hit two and scored two runs, while Tara Potts had two hits and scored two runs against Wasilla.
Tally Isrealson pitched the win against Palmer, while Potts pitched against Wasilla.
Juneau (10-4) completed its swing through the Anchorage-area schools Friday by defeating Bartlett 12-11 and falling to Chugiak 6-3 Friday.
Natalie Capacci trotted home for the game-winning run against Bartlett after hitting a two-run triple. Capacci finished the game with three runs, three hits and three RBIs.
Melanie Maus drove in two runs on two hits and stole two bases, while Darbee Anderson, had two hits, stole a base and scored once. MaryAnn Moffet also had two hits, and scored three runs and drove in one. Kynde Baun hit a triple and scored once.
Stephanie Heard started on the mound for Juneau, with Aubrey Alt and Isrealson coming on in relief.
Juneau held a 3-1 lead after the second inning against Chugiak, but the Mustangs scored a least one run every inning from there to come back and win.
Kari Parr had two hits, a stolen base and an RBI; Brianne Mecum also had two hit with a double, and scored one.
Also on Saturday, the Sitka Wolves fell to Dimond 11-1.
The Crimson Bears complete their regular season with games in Ketchikan Friday and Saturday.
