Juneau police, fire officials, hospital officials, the Juneau Crime Line and state troopers reported:

Driving while intoxicated:

Police stopped a blue Ford truck about 2 a.m. today near the intersection of Back Loop Road and Wren Drive to check on the driver. They arrested the driver, Dale R. Sams, 42, for driving while intoxicated and additionally charged him with driving with a blood-alcohol level over 0.10 percent. Sams was lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

Thefts, lost/found items:

A man, 46, reported about 8:15 a.m. Tuesday that his daughter's bike was stolen from the Mendenhall Mall. The bike is a black boys' Huffy.

A man, 41, reported shortly after noon Tuesday that his daughter's K2 roller blades were missing, possibly from the skate park area. The blades are blue and gray. The skates were in a blue backpack and have identifying marks.

Shortly before 1 p.m. Tuesday, a man, 20, was arrested for concealment of merchandise on West Willoughby Avenue. He was additionally charged with sixth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance. He was lodged at state prison on $250 bail.

A man, 39, reported shortly before 1 p.m. Tuesday that his checkbook was missing somewhere in Juneau. The checkbook is enclosed in a blue plastic cover.


Shortly before 2 p.m. Tuesday, a boy, 12, was placed under citizen's arrest at Floyd Dryden Middle School for assault. He was transported to and lodged at the Johnson Youth Center.

Police responded about 4 p.m. Tuesday to a report of trespassing on Glacier Highway. A man, 32, was placed under citizen's arrest for assault. He was lodged at state prison.


Two minutes before midnight Tuesday, Capital City Fire & Rescue responded to a fire on Steep Place. It was an unauthorized burn on open land. Because burning is not supposed to take place after dark, and because it was unauthorized, the person burning was asked to extinguish the fire.


A man, 18, was placed under citizen's arrest about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday for trespassing at Juneau-Douglas High School. He was subsequently released.

Vehicle accidents:

Police responded about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday to a motor vehicle accident at the Mendenhall Mall. A girl, 16, driving a 1994 Honda Civic was involved in an accident with a 1992 Ford Probe driven by a woman, 32. Both parties exchanged insurance information. Estimates of damage were not available. No one was injured.


Shortly before 9 p.m. Tuesday, two men, 44 and 49, were arrested at Marine Park for being intoxicated on a licensed premise they were at earlier. Both were lodged at state prison.

Shortly after 8 p.m. Tuesday, a boy, 14, was cited and released on Steelhead Street for operating a go cart on a city street without a license. The go cart was released to its owner.
