ANCHORAGE - Tina Lindgren, president of the Alaska Travel Industry Association, announced Thursday she is resigning.
Lindgren said she will step down July 12 to spend more time with her family and focus on other interests.
Active in Alaska's tourism since 1989, Lindgren helped consolidate the Alaska Visitors Association, Alaska Tourism Marketing Council and the state Division of Tourism and create the travel industry association in 2000.
She began her career on the staff of the Alaska Visitors Association. In 1991, she was tapped to lead the tourism marketing council. She left in 1995 to take a job as executive director of the visitors association until she took the helm of the new travel industry association.
