Police and fire blotter

Juneau police, fire officials, hospital officials, the Juneau Crime Line and state troopers reported:

Thefts, lost/found items:

A woman, 38, reported about 3:15 p.m. Wednesday that her daughter's red backpack was stolen at Juneau-Douglas High School. It contained cash, identification and a white pullover anorak.

JDHS staff reported about 1:15 p.m. Wednesday that a boy, 17, had been found in possession of a stolen jacket. The jacket was returned and charges are pending against the suspect.

A woman, 22, reported about 3 p.m. Wednesday that her black bag was stolen at Hangar on the Wharf. The bag included her organizer, purse, keys, makeup and toiletries.

A man, 25, reported about 7:45 p.m. Wednesday from Sunshine Cove that various items had been stolen from his vehicle sometime since Saturday. The items missing included paperwork, Bushnell mini-binoculars, cassette tapes and a toolbox containing tools.


A woman, 41, reported about 8 a.m. Wednesday that a criminal trespass occurred at JDHS. Investigation continues.

Minor consuming:

A woman, 20, and a girl, 17, were caught drinking about 1 a.m. Thursday in Savikko Park. They were cited for underage drinking and released.

Vehicle accidents:

A man, 52, reported about 9 a.m. Wednesday from Eighth Street in Juneau that his parked sport utility vehicle had been hit by another vehicle, causing about $500 in damage.


A woman, 42, reported about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday that a 16-year-old girl had been assaulted by her mother. No medical assistance was needed. The police investigation continues.
