At approximately 3:30 p.m., Thursday, May 5, an available parking place was sighted in the vicinity of 150 Third St. in downtown Juneau.

This is the first documented sighting of its kind since Feb. 20, 2003, when a Douglas resident, now deceased, reported that she had actually seen a parking place in the same area during the early morning hours.

According to the Juneau police, the person who claims this latest sighting, wishing to remain anonymous, was taken to the emergency room of the Bartlett Hospital where he was treated for mild shock and later released.
