19-year-old erratic highway driver arrested Saturday

ANCHORAGE - A 19-year-old man is under arrest after leading Alaska State Troopers on a highway chase in a car with no tires.

Troopers say Rytter King did not have permission to drive a relative's car, which had only wheels when it was spotted traveling erratically on the Seward Highway early Saturday.

Troopers say an officer tried to stop the driver near mile 102 south of Anchorage and the vehicle pulled over, then rammed the officer's car and collided with another vehicle.

Troopers say King's car then sped south, veering between a pedestrian path and oncoming traffic. No one was hurt.

Troopers then pushed King's car off the road and he was arrested on numerous charges including felony eluding, vehicle theft, criminal mischief, assault, driving under the influence and refusing to submit to a chemical test.
