The Juneau-Douglas High School junior varsity softball team swept a doubleheader from Prince of Wales High School on Sunday at Melvin Park.

Krista Barril and Darby Brown opened the twinbill by combining on a no-hitter in the Crimson Bears' 13-0 win. Barril struck out seven batters in four innings, while Brown fanned two batters in the fifth.
Kelsey Castagnola and Sadie Pierson led the Bears' bats with 2-for-3 efforts, including a double and three runs scored each.
Nethia Lavering went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, and Barril had two base hits and scored twice in the win.
Juneau-Douglas beat Prince of Wales 11-2 in the second game, and Barrill and Nicole Young each hit home runs.
Lii Levale went 3-for-3 with two doubles and three runs scored, Brown tripled, Annie Hegar doubled, and Allyson Krebsbach went 2-for-3 with a run scored in the win. Also for JDHS, Rachel Peyton went 1-for-3 with a run scored.
Brown, Hegar and Barril pitched two innings each in the win, combining to strike out seven batters.
