High schools bands, choirs to play combined concerts

The Juneau Douglas High School band and the Thunder Mountain High School band will perform a spring finale concert together beginning at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, at the JDHS auditorium.

Featured works will include Pirates of the Caribbean, Disney at the Movies, and Jupiter. The JDHS band will be led by Ken Guiher; Trevor Hovest will lead the TMHS (regular band leader Brian Van Kirk is out on paternity leave).

The combined choirs and orchestras from both high schools will also perform, beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 21, at the JDHS auditorium. Richard Moore will lead the group.
