JUNEAU - The Juneau Audubon Society is continuing its bird walks in May.

Kevin O'Malley will lead a walk on the Mendenhall Wetlands on Saturday beginning at 8 a.m. for locals interested in learning more about birding in the Juneau area. He said he's hoping to get new birders interested in the hobby by touching on some of the basics, like how to look for shapes, colors and how to identify individual bird habitats.

The walk will follow the Dike Trail and may go onto the tidal flats, as well. Veteran birders are also welcome. The group will meet at the end of Radcliffe Rd.
