ANCHORAGE - Alaska veterans will have several chances to talk about their concerns about service in the state.
The Alaska Veterans Advisory Council is hosting several meetings around the state where officials will provide guidance in health care, home loans, education, disability and other areas.
Meetings are scheduled in Bethel on Friday, Ketchikan on Tuesday and the Mat-Su Valley on May 22. More meetings are also being planned.
The advisory council is a group of 13 veterans from across Alaska.
Information gathered at the meetings will be used for planning the annual Veterans Summit in Wasilla June 24.
A final report will be presented next February to the governor and state lawmakers on the Joint Armed Services Committee.
