Criticizes ad

Posted: Monday, May 15, 2000

The man on the right in Chris Garrison's so-called ad in favor of tourism was Henry the Wind.

His funeral in the seventies was an occasion for a parade through downtown with military honors and flag bearers in front of the coffin.

Half of Juneau came to watch. He was a local character who never caused real trouble, but have we now become so politically correct that we rewrite our history to please those who benefit from the stream of mass visitors at the expense of the residents?
