Bartlett Regional Hospital employees Brenda Jones, left, and Michelle Julian, right, were two of about 50 employees and family members on parade through downtown Friday protesting the proposed 1 percent pay increase over the next three years. Since September, union leaders representing 240 Bartlett employees had been negotiating with the hospital for a new contract. Last Thursday, 98 percent of union members - among them janitors, nurses and technicians - refused to accept the contract proposed by hospital management. The old contract expired in January.
