Reports from police, fire officials and state troopers:

Sound off on the important issues at

Animal encounters:

• A bear was reported at 5:09 p.m. and at 5:46 p.m. Sunday in the 6500 block of Glacier Highway. State officials responded and said the bear had left.


• At 7:22 p.m. Sunday, a stereo worth $275 was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 11900 block of Glacier Highway.

• At 11:03 p.m. Sunday, a woman reported the rifling of a truck in the 100 block of Cordova Street.

• At 12:03 a.m. Monday, a man reported the rifling of three vehicles in the 3100 block of Nowell Avenue. A Dewalt tool set worth $500 and a black Dewalt bag were reported stolen.

• At 1:58 a.m. Monday, a woman reported the rifling of a vehicle in the 1000 block of Wee Burn Drive.

• At 2:50 a.m. Monday, a several vehicles were reported rifled in the 1200 block of Fifth Street. A $200 pair of prescription sunglasses were stolen. A rifle case and skateboard were recovered.

Traffic accidents:

• A 14-year-old girl was cited on a charge of driving without a license at 3:24 p.m. Sunday after a single-vehicle accident in the 3700 block of Douglas Highway. No injuries were reported. A 49-year-old woman was cited on a charge of unlawful use of operator's license.

• A Land Rover had $5,000 of damage when it struck a truck at 3:26 p.m. Sunday in the 11900 block of Glacier Highway. No injuries were reported, and the truck was not damaged.
