Police and fire blotter

Juneau police, fire officials, hospital officials and state troopers reported:

Thefts, lost/found items:

A woman, 38, reported shortly before 10 a.m. Monday that she had misplaced a brown business cell phone downtown.

Police responded about 2:30 p.m. Monday to the McNugget intersection on an agency assist. A Fish and Wildlife trooper had conducted a traffic stop on a stolen vehicle from Anchorage. The vehicle was driven by a woman, 46. Investigation continues.

A woman, no age given, found an inoperable starter pistol at Juneau-Douglas High School. About 5 p.m. Monday, she turned it in to the police station. Police placed it in safekeeping.

A man, 44, reported at 5 a.m. today that his black Sony radio/CD player had been stolen at Harris Harbor.

Assault:

Shortly before 5 p.m. Monday, police responded to the report of a disturbance at the Bergman Hotel. A man, 30, was placed under citizen's arrest for assault. He was lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

Vehicle accidents:

About 5:30 p.m. Monday, a 1993 white Ford tour bus operated by a man, 72, struck a bicyclist near the intersection of Mendenhall Loop Road and Stephen Richards Memorial Drive. An ambulance responded and took the bicyclist, a man, 49, to Bartlett Regional Hospital. He was released from the emergency room in good condition.

Vandalism:

A man, 59, reported about 11 p.m. Monday that the front window of his residence on Gastineau Avenue had been broken. Police later contacted a suspect, a man, 36, who was issued a verbal warning for possible involvement. The caller did not wish to pursue criminal charges. Alcohol was involved in the incident.
