Understand ballot

Letter to the editor

Posted: Sunday, May 16, 2004

Voters should be aware of confusing language on the ballot concerning the new Valley high school. I cast an absentee ballot on May 10 and had to read the ballot statement several times to ascertain that a "no" vote actually endorses proceeding with construction and a "yes" vote opposes construction. Voters may mistakenly vote the opposite of their intent unless the misleading language is well-publicized. Remember: No means going ahead with construction and yes means deferring construction.
