Recently we unexpectedly lost our friend, Wade Winger. Wade and I moved to Juneau together in 2006 from Sitka, and chose to make our home here. We undoubtedly made the best choice because we made so many wonderful friends, many of whom we consider family.
Wade was a small part of the community, and of our lives in a big way. He was a son, nephew, brother, uncle, friend, teammate and the love of my life.
In the past month, I have not only lost such a big part of my life, but I have also witnessed some of the most beautiful and generous people, doing such wonderful things and I would like to thank you all. I am afraid thank you is not nearly enough, for your love and kindness has far exceeded anything I could have imagined, but I hope that you know it is said and felt in a place in my heart that i will forever cherish.
Thank you, Juneau. Thank you, friends. Thank you to my family at Pat's. Thank you to the Island Pub. Thank you to the Red Dog Saloon. Thank you to Bartlett Regional Hospital. Thank you to Search Medivac team. Thank you to the Guardian Medivac Team. Thank you to everyone who has so generously given in so many ways. I appreciate and love you.
