Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Sound off on the important issues at


• Gasoline valued at $42.81 was reported stolen at 3:53 p.m. Monday in the 900 block of West 10th Street.

• A compact disc player and a 15-speed bicycle were reported stolen near Eagle's Edge.

• A BMX-style bicycle was reported stolen at 8:13 p.m. Monday in the 9300 block of Lakeview Court in the Mendenhall Valley.


• A window was reported vandalized at 7:04 p.m. Monday in the 4400 block of Kanata Street in the valley.

Vehicle accidents:

• A 1989 Ford, driven by a 26-year-old man, reportedly struck a 1992 Pontiac, driven by a 21-year-old woman, at 12:44 p.m. Monday in the 11900 block of Glacier Highway in the Auke Bay area. Damage was estimated at $500 to each car.

Traffic stop:

• Police impounded a vehicle at 8:01 a.m. Tuesday in the 600 block of Willoughby Avenue after citing the driver, a 26-year-old man, on a charge of driving without a license.

Animal encounters:

• At 11:03 p.m. Monday, a 46-year-old man reported that the 2002 Subaru Forester he was driving hit a deer on Glacier Highway near the Shrine of St. Therese. Damage to the car was estimated at $350.

• Two bears were reported getting into garbage at 12:19 a.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of West 12th Street downtown.

• At 9:18 a.m. Tuesday, a 48-year-old man reported the 1999 Honda CRV he was driving had run into a deer on the Auke Village Recreation Area bypass road. The passenger-side door sustained minor damage.
