JUNEAU - Every summer the University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service hires an integrated pest management technician as a resource for Juneau's local gardeners and community members. The IPM technician is available throughout the summer months to answer questions specifically involving ecologically sound control methods for insects, plant disease, and weeds.

Marie Heidemann is returning to Juneau as this summer's IPM technician. She can be reached at the Bill Ray Center, 1108 F St., Suite 213, downtown, or by calling 796-6241 or 796-6221. She is available Monday through Friday and can also do site visits as necessary.

Call Heidemann with any garden or household weed, insect or plant disease questions or concerns.
