Thanks for volunteering at ZGYC's egg hunt

The Zach Gordon Youth Center's 25th annual Easter Egg Hunt on April 11 was yet another immensely enjoyable occasion that saw almost 450 Juneau youngsters collect their share of more than 6,000 candy-filled eggs and go home with a special bag of toy prizes (marvelously put together by ZGYC employees Donny Burras and Tabitha Dunham) as an extra treat for each of them.

Although we had to deal with a large amount of snow on the ground at Adair-Kennedy Memorial Park, the egg hunt still went off without a hitch thanks to the tremendously appreciated contributions from the following individuals who generously volunteered their time and effort to see to it that all of the kids left our event with great big grins on their faces.

In alphabetical order, kudos to: Daniel Fernandez, Timmy Flood, Tristan Karosas, Laura Manley, Margaret Novak, Charlie Shattuck, Christa Shier, Victoria Shorty, Mr. Truitt, Mary Ullman, Andrew Vidal, Jackie Wagner, Marilyn Miller Young and Scott Young. We would also like to give thanks to Juneau Community Schools for allowing us to use the comfortably warm and dry gym at Floyd Dryden Middle School as a convenient gathering spot for the egg hunt registration and prize bag handout. Thank you once again to all of you - as well as to anyone else whose name we might've unfortunately missed.

We look forward to hosting the 26th anniversary of the Zach Gordon Youth Center's Easter Egg Hunt in 2010.
