ANCHORAGE - Crews are still making progress against the wildfire near Homer, thanks to continued misting and humidity.
Fire managers say the light precipitation that fell overnight in the fire area 15 miles from Homer reduced the blaze to just smoldering, with flames visible occasionally.
An advisory evacuation has been canceled.
About 245 firefighters Saturday were tackling the blaze, which is 50 percent contained.
The fire size remains at about 1.7 square miles.
About 50 homes had been threatened by the blaze including residences in three small Russian Old Believer settlements.
Fire officials say three homes and two other structures in the fire area were destroyed.
