JUNEAU - Juneau police have searched a home as part of an investigation into injuries suffered by a 2-year-old girl.

The girl's injures were reported Thursday night at Bartlett Regional Hospital.

Police were told the girl had suffered severe injuries to her face, head and neck plus other, less serious injuries on other parts of her body.

The girl was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle and reported in critical condition.

Police say the child was brought to the emergency room by her mother and her mother's boyfriend.

Police interviewed them and hospital staff and obtained a search warrant for the family's home.

Department official Cindee Brown-Mills says the purpose of the warrant was to look for evidence of suspected abuse.
